TAUGHT BY MATT ZAVORTINK AND AXEL BACHMANN
Advanced Lessons at Rose City Chess are taught by our Masters-in-Residence. These lessons are smaller in size, longer in duration, and designed for students hoping to compete at the state and national level. We also have Advanced Lessons for Adult Improvers. Advanced I is suitable for students rated USCF U1000-1500. Advanced II is suitable for 1500+.
Advanced Lessons:
90-120 minute weekly group lesson
Make-up lessons may be available if you miss a day
Lessons consist of a mix of the following:
Achievements: Celebrating development milestones for each player
Game Analysis: Highlighting teachable moments in student games
Strategy: Focused overview on key concepts
Tactics: Developing calculation, visualization, and pattern recognition
Open Play: Students play each other and the coach in Lichess Tournaments and Simuls
